Introducing Our Commercial Lines Department

The Weimer Insurance Agency is a multi-line insurance agency, serving both personal and commercial lines clients since it's founding nearly 30 years ago. Since 1990, however, the most significant growth has been in the area of commercial lines. This is evidenced by the fact that Weimer Insurance has earned the distinction of being recognized by the Erie Insurance Group as one of its top-ten commercial producing agencies company-wide for the past three years, finishing second in 1996.

In this first on-line edition of Insurance Insights, we wanted to take this opportunity to introduce our commercial lines department staff. Our commercial department, located in our Perkasie office at the Perkasie Square Shopping Center, is managed by Faith Derstine, who joined the "Weimer family" in 1978. Faith earned her Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation from the Professional Insurance Agents Association in 1990, and is currently working on obtaining her Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation.

We currently have two sales agents specializing in commercial lines. Robert McVaugh started with the agency in 1993, having worked several years previously as an insurance sales agent. Rob earned the distinction of being Top Producer for the agency in 1995 and 1996. James Plummer is also a sales agent, and began his career with us in 1994. Jim came to us with a strong background in life insurance sales, and continues doing that in addition to commercial lines.

Our support staff of customer service agents is fully licensed and experienced in the area of commercial lines. Nancy Myers came to work for us in 1990, bringing with her three years of previous insurance experience. Nancy has also earned the CISR designation. Diane Caplan joined our agency in 1995, and has 10 years experience in customer service. Her enjoyment in working with people and her commitment to customer service is readily apparent when you talk with her. Brenda Rice joined our agency in 1996, also having had 10 years prior experience in customer relations. In addition to customer service, she oversees all of our brokerage business. Both Diane and Brenda are in the process of obtaining their CISR designations.

Our agency proudly shares the founding philosophy of the Erie Insurance Group -- "To provide its policyholders with as near perfect protection, as near perfect service, as is humanly possible, and to do so at the lowest possible cost." We invite you to find out for yourself by contacting us for a no cost, no obligation review and comparison of your insurance.

New Snowmobile Regulations in Pennsylvania

Before you take that snowmobile and head for the trails, you need to know about an important new law in Pennsylvania regarding mandatory insurance for snowmobiles. Effective 9/9/96, the new law states: "No owner of a snowmobile shall operate or permit the same to be operated without having in full force and effect the required liability insurance coverage. The operator of a snowmobile shall carry proof of insurance on their person or in the snowmobile when it is in operation." The law applies to snowmobile operation anywhere in the state, except on the owner's private property. Violators of this new law will risk being fined up to $300!

Give us a call and let us take care of your insurance before you head out. Our agency can make certain that you get the best price without sacrificing quality. Weimer Insurance is able to offer: ID cards for all units; multi-unit discounts; competitive pricing; "A" rating by A.M. Best; payment plan availability; lay-up period; package coverages.
